Kisspeptin
Kisspeptin is a family of endogenous neuropeptides that act via the GPR54 (KISS1R) receptor as regulators of hypothalamic GnRH neurons. Activation stimulates the release of GnRH and subsequently LH and FSH, which are essential for reproductive processes. Research focuses on applications in IVF and as a model for GnRH neuron function and fertility disorders. It is also studied in relation to mood regulation, sexual behavior, and neurodegenerative processes.
